Dr. Linda Smail is a Professor at the College of Interdisciplinary Studies at Zayed University. Prior to joining Zayed University, Dr. Smail held positions at the New York Institute of Technology and the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani. Dr. Smail earned her B.S. in Mathematics from Batna University, Algeria, in 1998, followed by her M.S. and Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Marne-la-Vallée University, France, in 2000 and 2004, respectively. In 2017, she also completed a B.S. in Mathematics and Economics from the University of London/London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), UK. Her research primarily focuses on graphical models and Bayesian networks with a particular interest in Bayesian inference and learning within these models. Dr. Smail is particularly interested in applying Bayesian networks across various fields to enhance decision making under uncertainty.
