Danut-Ionel Vaireanu
Danut-Ionel Vaireanu is a professor at the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest, a Chartered Chemist, and a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK, and The Electrochemical Society, USA. He graduated top at the country level receiving a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest in 1988 and he obtained his MSc and PhD degrees in Instrumentation and Analytical Sciences from the University of Manchester, UK in 1992 and 1995, respectively. He was a NATO/Royal Society fellow between 1997 and 1998 completing postdoctoral research at the University of Manchester. His area of expertise is in the fields of theoretical and applied electrochemistry, electrochemical sensors, corrosion and corrosion protection, electrochemical engineering, batteries, fuel cells and power sources, electrochemical vehicles, electrochemical treatment of waste waters, materials science and nanotechnologies, materials and devices for medical instruments and equipment, novel materials for restorative dentistry, etc. He is a corresponding member of the Technical Sciences of Romania and an associate member of the Academy of Romanian Scientists.
