Roberto Gómez is a professor of physical chemistry at the University of Alicante (UA) and member of the UA Institute of Electrochemistry. He is currently head of the UA Department of Physical Chemistry where he leads the research group of Photochemistry and Electrochemistry of Semiconductors. He made research stays at Purdue University, University of Bath, and National Renewable Energy Laboratory (USA). He is interested in different aspects of fundamental and applied Electrochemistry, with a focus on semiconductor photoelectrochemistry for the conversion of solar energy into chemical energy, alkaline and alkaline-earth batteries, and electrocatalysis for water splitting.
