Nelson Augusto Cruz de Azevedo Barros.
Ph.D with a Habilitation in Environmental Sciences, a Master's in Thermal Engineering, and a degree (5 years) in Environmental Engineering. He has more than 30 years of research experience in the area of outdoor and indoor air quality (monitoring, numerical modelling and management), including the assessment of the impact of air quality on human health. He also has a long experience in participating in research projects. He has published more than 170 papers, among which more than 40 Scopus publications. He has collaborated with 20 international journals in peer reviewing scientific manuscripts for publication. He is on the board of reviewers of Atmosphere, the Editorial Board of the Journal of Ecological Engineering. Since 2000, he is professor at Fernando Pessoa University (UFP) of several courses in the area of environmental science and engineering. He was chairman of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology and coordinator of several study cycles. At present, he is Associate Professor with habilitation at UFP, coordinator of the PhD program in Ecology and Environmental Health, member of FP I3ID (Fernando Pessoa Institute for Research, Innovation and Development) and member of the RISE - Health Research Network.
