Andrew J. MacIntosh completed his Ph.D. studies in food science at Dalhousie University in 2014. He then worked for four years as an Assistant Professor in the Process Engineering Department at Dalhousie University where he was responsible for teaching many chemical engineering and food science courses. To facilitate his extension and outreach assignment, he spearheaded the formation of the Canadian Institute of Fermentation Technology (CIFT). In 2017, he transitioned to the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at the University of Florida (Gainesville), and is currently serving as an Assistant Professor. He won the 2018–2019 Innovation in Teaching Award from the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.
Rebecca W. Baldwin is the Undergraduate Coordinator and an Associate Professor for the Entomology and Nematology Department. She directs the UF Entomology and Nematology Education and Outreach Program, advises the undergraduate Entomology Club, and hosts the 4-H Insectathon and Summer 4-H Entomology Field Camp each year. She completed her Ph.D. studies in urban entomology at the University of Florida. She was awarded the 2023 Entomological Society of America Distinguished Achievement Award in Teaching, Southeastern Branch and National, the 2022 USDA National Excellence in College and University Teaching in Food and Agricultural Sciences Teaching and Student Engagement Award, and the 2022 UF College of Agricultural and Life Sciences CALS Council Advisor of the Year Award. Her research interests stem from education and training in the pest control industry. Her research consists of testing low-impact pesticides using fatty acid salts that can be utilized in environments with children.
