Prof. Dr. Agata Kaminska obtained her MSc in physics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Jagiellonian University, Cracow, and she obtained her PhD degree at the Institute of Physics, the Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw. She is a specialist in solid state physics. At present, she is a member of the Group of High-Pressure Spectroscopy in the Division of Physics and Technology of Wide-Band-Gap Semiconductor Nanostructures at the Institute of Physics, PAS, and she is the director of the Institute of Physical Sciences at the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the College of Science at Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw. Currently, her research focuses on the optical characterization of different luminescent materials, e.g., low-dimensional III-V or II-VI semiconductor structures, and transition-metal or rare-earth ion-doped semiconductors and insulators.
