Dr. Pornchai Rachtanapun is a professor and senior researcher in the field of active and intelligent packaging technology at the Department of Packaging Technology, Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University. He received his Bachelor of Science from Kasetsart University, Thailand in 1993, his Master of Science in Chemistry from Michigan Technological University in 1999, and his Ph.D. from the School of Packaging, Michigan State University in 2003. His research includes biopolymer-based films (e.g., carboxymethyl cellulose, carboxymethyl chitosan, nanocellulose, etc.), nanotechnology in packaging, and packaging from agro-industry and agricultural wastes.
