Dr. Hua-Bin Li is a professor in School of Public Health, Sun Yat-Sen University. His more than 300
papers have been published, including 240 papers in SCI journals, which have
been cited over 19,000 times. He is also a highly cited researcher by Clarivate
Analytics since 2017. His expertise
and research interests focus on the effects and mechanisms of food and natural
products on physical and mental health, such as obesity, diabetic mellitus,
liver disease, cardiovascular disease, cancer, anxiety and depression.
Dr.
Hui-Lian Zhu got her Ph.D. in toxicology from Sun Yat-sen University in 2002.
She also holds a M.D. in medicine and a M.S. in nutrition and food hygiene. She
undertook further training as a visiting scholar at the University of Koupio in
Finland during 2001–2002. Dr. Zhu’s main research field is the effects of diet
and nutrition on human health. She has been particularly interested in choline
and betaine as methyl donors for fatty liver disease and brain development in
humans and animals and furthering their effects in preventing chronic diseases,
including cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, and
tumors. Dr. Zhu has been the recipient of 15 grants, including five NSFC
(National Natural Science Foundation of China) grants for studies on methyl
donors. She has published more than 60 research papers in recent years. Dr. Zhu
has presided over seven National Natural Science Foundation projects and many
provincial and ministerial projects. Dr. Zhu participated in the drafting of
important national guidelines and consensus, including the “Dietary Guidelines
for Chinese Residents” and “Recommended Dietary Nutrient Intake for Chinese
Residents.” Dr. Zhu won the second prize of the Guangdong Science and
Technology Progress Award (1st), the second prize of the Science and Technology
Award of the Chinese Nutrition Society (1st), and the third prize of the Huaxia
Medical Science and Technology Award (1st).
