Ruth studied psychology and a postgraduate degree in emergency psychology at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. During this period she completed a Master in General Health at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, where she began her career as a researcher in the area of Social and Health Psychology, working with the bystander effect that arises in cases of intimate partner violence among adolescents. She later joined the research group on LGBTIQ+ childhood and adolescence at the university.
Yolanda earned her PhD in Psychology from the University of Valencia in 1999 and has been an Full Professor in the Social Psychology Department at King Juan Carlos University since 2009. As an educator, her expertise focuses on general social psychology, social psychology of education, communication psychology, and social intervention psychology. Her main research area has been the study of psychosocial factors affecting adolescence and youth, particularly those related to health behaviors and risks within the LGBT population.
Miguel holds a PhD in Psychology from the Autonomous University of Madrid (international mention and extraordinary PhD award). He is currently a researcher and lecturer in the Department of Psychology (Social Psychology Area) at the King Juan Carlos University. Specialized stays in gender, childhood and social movements at the Freie University of Berlin, Simon Fraser University, National Autonomous University of Mexico and University of Coimbra. His professional career has been dedicated to the areas of childhood and youth and social intervention in the fields of gender, attention to affective-sexual diversity and sexual and gender based violence. In recent years, he has coordinated feminist research projects, trans* childhood and reflection on masculinities. Member of activist networks to report sexual and gender harassment. Also, he is involved in different research groups related to public health policies and feminist epistemologies
Lucas Platero Méndez holds a PhD from UNED and a degree in Psychology from UCM. He is a tenured professor of Social Psychology at King Juan Carlos University and has received several awards for his research and academic activism, notably the Emma Goldman Award for feminist knowledge and inequality studies (Flax Foundation, 2020). He directs the General University Series and the Bellaterrakids children's series by Bellaterra Publishing.Lucas has led the URJC team in the European project "Colorful Childhoods" (2022-2024) and is part of the "INIA" project (2020-2024). He also participates in two national projects: "Repro-flows in Europe, North Africa, and Latin America" (2021-2024) and "Supporting Sexual and Gender Diversity" (2024-2027). His research focuses on public policies on the body, gender, and sexuality; trans studies; disability and queer pedagogies. He has published extensively in international and national journals, along with several books on gender and sexuality.
