Dr. Konstantinos Karampidis is a Laboratory Teaching Staff
(EDIP) at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Hellenic
Mediterranean University. He holds an M.Sc. in Informatics & Multimedia
from the Department of Informatics Engineering of the Technological Educational
Institute of Crete. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Department of Information
and Communication Systems Engineering of the University of the Aegean. He has
been a Laboratory Associate at the Department of Informatics Engineering of the
Technological Educational Institute of Crete, where he has taught a series of
laboratory courses such as Digital Signal Processing, Artificial Neural
Networks, and Pattern Recognition. In addition, he is a member of the Hellenic
Society of Artificial Intelligence (EETN) and the Hellenic Society of
Scientists and Professionals in Informatics and Communications (EPY). He is a
reviewer in many scientific journals. He has participated in numerous European
research programs as a technician/researcher. His current research interests
include Intelligent Systems applications, deep learning, machine learning, and
digital forensics.
Prof. Giorgos Papadourakis is a Professor at the newly formed Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the Hellenic Mediterranean University. He received his B.Sc. degree from the Michigan Technological University in 1978, his Master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1981, and his Ph.D. Degree from the University of Florida in 1986, all in Electrical Engineering. In 1995, he established and was director of the Neural Networks and Expert Systems Laboratory. His transfer to the Department of Applied Informatics and Multimedia resulted in the formation of the Intelligent Systems Laboratory, where he was the director until 2017. He was the Rector of the TEI of Crete (September–November 2017) and Dean of the School of Engineering (December 2017–February 2018). He has been Conference Chair at 15 International Conferences, has been a member of several program committees of international Conferences, and has been a reviewer of several international conferences, Journals, and agencies. His research interests include Intelligent System applications, firmware and software development, Cyber Security, Engineering Education, and Open Distance Learning.
