Paolo Vavassori has been an IKERBASQUE research professor and a group co-leader of Nanomagnetism Group - CIC nanoGUNE (Spain) since 2010. He obtained an M.Sc. in Electronic Engineering at Politecnico di Milano (Italy) in 1990 and a PhD in Physics at Politecnico di Milano (Italy) in 1994. He was a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Ferrara (Italy) from 1994 to 1996, a lecturer in Electromagnetism and Optics at the Politecnico di Milano (Italy) from 1996 to 1997, a postdoctoral research associate at the Argonne National Laboratory (USA) from 1998 to 1999, a research professor in Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Ferrara (Italy) from 1999 to 2008 and a Marie Curie Fellow - CIC nanoGUNE (Spain) from 2008 to 2010. He was a member of the IEEE Magnetic Society Technical Committee and has been an associate editor of the Journal of Applied Physics since 2010.
