Prof. Dr. Chuan He is a Chief Professor at the Southwest Jiaotong University. He received a B.S. degree in Highway Engineering from Chongqing Jiaotong University in 1984, an M.S. degree in Bridge, Tunnel and Structure Engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University in 1987, and a Ph.D. in Architecture and Civil Engineering from Waseda University in 1999. Since February 2000, he has served successively as a Professor (February 2000), Head of the Department of Underground Engineering (May 2000), doctoral
supervisor (October 2001), Director of the Office of Scientific Research and Development (September 2015), Assistant President (October 2015) and Vice President (May 2018) at Southwest Jiaotong University. As the first or main contributor, he has obtained many national invention patents. His research
mainly focuses on subway and underwater shield tunnel theory, the structural safety of large and complex traffic tunnels, and the operational control of long and large tunnels.
Prof. Dr. Kun Feng received a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University in 2001 and a Ph.D. in Bridge and Tunnel Engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University in 2007. Since 2012, he has served successively as a lecturer (2012-2016), an associate professor (2016-2020), and a professor (2020-present) at Southwest Jiaotong University. He is also the director of Underwater Tunnel Branch of Chinese Society of Rock Mechanics and Engineering and the director of the Youth Working
Committee of Chinese Society of Rock Mechanics and Engineering. He was selected as a Young Scholar of the ‘Chang Jiang Scholars Program’, Ministry of Education, in 2020. He is the co-inventor of many patents, e.g., ZL201920736741.4. His research mainly focuses on modern shield tunnel design theory and tunnel structure long-life design theory.
