Rodrigo Soto-Lagos is an academic in the Department of Management and Public Policies at the Faculty of Administration and Economics of the University of Santiago, Chile. He is a psychologist and holds a doctorate in psychology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso (with doctoral internships at the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil), University of Los Andes (Colombia), and the University of Liverpool (England)). He has also taken training courses in public policies at Harvard University (United States), case studies for public policies at the University of Oxford (England), and sports psychology at the University of Thessaly (Greece).He is a 1st Dan Black Belt in Judo and a triathlete. His scientific work is based on the qualitative analysis of public policies in areas such as Health, Education, and Social Studies of Sport. He was the coordinator of the "Sport, Culture, and Society" working group of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) from 2016 to 2022 and of the Chilean Network of Social Studies of Sport (RESDEP). He is the principal investigator of the regular FONDECYT funded by ANID No. 1231837 titled "Socio-Ecological Assemblages to Understand Physical Inactivity, Body and Sports Practices in Public and Private Schools in Chile" (2023-2027).
