Irene
González Guede graduated in Chemistry from the National Distance Education
University in 2017 and completed a master's degree in Introduction to Research
in Mental Health at the Complutense University of Madrid in 2020. Additionally,
she has received training as a laboratory technician since 2006 and continues
her education through specialized courses in research. She began her career in
oncological research as a laboratory technician at the pharmaceutical company
Eli Lilly in 2006. From 2007 to 2010, she worked in the R&D department at
Genómica, SAU, where she focused on the research and development of clinical
diagnostic kits. Subsequently, she contributed to the Medical Genome Project
and CABIMER, specializing in genome sequencing for rare diseases and the
regeneration of photoreceptors and motoneurons. From 2015 to 2019, she served
as laboratory manager at the Faculty of Medicine of the Complutense University
of Madrid, where she conducted basic and clinical research on the
neurobiological and genetic bases of psychiatric disorders and addictions.
Currently, she works at the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Hospital
Clínico San Carlos as a researcher in the Musculoskeletal Pathologies Research
Group, focusing on tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, drug discovery, and
Organ-On-a-Chip. Her research topics mainly include regenerative medicine, musculoskeletal pathologies, tissue
engineering, genetics, pharmacology, and mental health.
