Dr. Maria Mirabelli is a post-doc researcher and medical resident in Endocrinology at the Department of Health Sciences, University “Magna Græcia” of Catanzaro. In addition, she is also a member of Antonio Brunetti’s Lab. Her skills and expertise include obesity, diabetes, pregnancy, experimental pharmacology, molecular cell biology, biomarkers, medical ethics, applied statistics, and scientific writing.
Dr. Francesco S. Brunetti is a PhD student in Clinical and Experimental Biomedical Sciences at the University “Magna Græcia” of Catanzaro, Italy. In 2018 he graduated, at the same University, in Medicine (score 110/110 cum laude and career mention) defending a thesis on machine learning titled “Integrated methods and techniques of cytological and morphological evaluation in diagnosis of thyroid nodules”. His actual research activity is centered on the efficacy testing and “high-quality” real-words data on obesity and type 2 diabetes, with a focus on technological innovation, including the expansion of big data and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. He is coauthor of many scientific publications in the field of biomedical science.
Dr. Eusebio Chiefari is an endocrine researcher at the Department of Health Sciences, University of Catanzaro “Magna Græcia”. He graduated in 1994 in Medicine with highest honors at the University of Reggio Calabria, Italy. In 2000, he earned his specialty in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases from the
University of Catanzaro. In 2008, he received the Young Scientist Award for Research Excellence from the University of Catanzaro. In 2013, he obtained a Ph.D degree in “Endocrine-Metabolic and Nutritional Sciences” from the same University. His skills and expertise include insulin resistance, diabetes, glucose metabolism, metabolism, metabolic diseases, lipid metabolism, nutrition, abdominal obesity, hypertension, and fat.
Dr. Antonio Brunetti is a full Professor in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Department of Health Sciences, University of Catanzaro “Magna Græcia”, Italy. He graduated in 1983 in Medicine with highest honors at the University of Catania, Italy. In 1986 he obtained his specialty in Endocrinology and Metabolism from the same University. In 1992 he received a Ph.D in Endocrinology and Metabolic Sciences from the University of Naples, Italy, while working at the Division of Diabetes and Endocrine Research, University of California San Francisco, CA, USA. From 2008 to 2016, he coordinated the PhD
program in Endocrine-Metabolic and Nutritional Sciences (University “Magna Græcia” of Catanzaro). Currently, he is the Coordinator of the PhD program in “Clinical and Experimental Biomedical Sciences" and Director of the “Operative Unit-Endocrinology and Metabolism” at the Azienda R. Dulbecco, University “Magna Græcia” of Catanzaro.
Dr. Daniela P. Foti is a full Professor of Clinical Pathology at the University “Magna Græcia” of Catanzaro. Graduating with honors in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Catania in 1984, she specialized in Endocrinology at the same location and in Internal Medicine at the University “Magna Græcia” of Catanzaro with top marks. In 1993, she obtained a PhD in Endocrinological and Metabolic Sciences at the University of Naples “Federico II”. After graduation, she carried out research in the field of thyroid physiopathology at the Clinical Endocrinology Branch of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, and the Thyroid Molecular Biology Laboratory of the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) in the USA. Furthermore, She is the director of the School of Specialization in Clinical Pathology and Clinical Biochemistry at the University “Magna Græcia” of Catanzaro. Her skills and expertise include diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, obesity, insulin action, molecular mechanisms of insulin resistance, laboratory diagnostics, inflammatory biomarkers, and novel biomarkers in human pathologies.
