Author Biographies

Received a master’s degree in Quality and Productivity from Tecmilenio University in 2008 and a master’s degree in Higher Education from Chihuahua Autonomous University in 2009. He is a full-time professor at Chihuahua Technological University and a doctorate candidate in the Juarez City Autonomous University Technology program. His areas of interest are computer numerical control machining, computer-aided design, automation, and robotics, with the application of artificial intelligence and computer vision technologies.
Received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Electronic Engineering in 2004, 2007, and 2014, respectively. From 2008 to 2011, he was a researcher and a teaching assistant at different universities. He is currently a Researcher and Professor at the Tecnologico Nacional de Mexico campus I.T. Chihuahua, and he is the Director of the Digital Signal Processing and Artificial Intelligence Lab. His current research includes computer vision, signal processing, computational intelligence, and machine learning. He is the author of patents and more than 50 papers published in journals, proceedings, and book chapters. He is a member of the National Research System of Mexico.
Received a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the Center for Research in Engineering and Applied Sciences (CIICAp) in Morelos, Mexico. She is currently in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez. Her research interests include finite volume, solar chimneys, artificial intelligence, and finite elements. She is a member of the National System of Level I Researchers in Mexico.
Received the B.S. degree in electronics engineering from the Institute of Technology of Tuxtla Gutierrez, Mexico, in 1997, the M.S. degree in mechatronics engineering from CENIDET, Mexico, in 2003, and thePh.D. degree (Engineering) in energy and environmental science from the Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan, in 2012. He is currently with the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez. His research interests include mechatronics, motion control, and haptic interfaces.
Osslan Osiris Vergara Villegas was born in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico, on July 3, 1977. He earned a B.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering from the Instituto Tecnologico de Zacatepec, Mexico, in 2000; an M.Sc. in Computer Science at the Center of Research and Technological Development (CENIDET) in 2003; and a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from CENIDET in 2006. He is a Professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, where he heads the Computer Vision and Augmented Reality laboratory. Prof. Vergara is a level-one member of the Mexican National Research System. He serves several peer-reviewed international journals and conferences as an editorial board member and reviewer. He has co-authored over 100 book chapters, journals, and international conference papers. Vergara has directed more than 50 B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. theses. He is a senior member of the IEEE Computer Society and a member of the Mexican Computing Academy. His fields of interest include pattern recognition, digital image processing, augmented reality, and mechatronics.
