Ninglian Wang is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Northwest University. He is a recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Science Foundation, a recipient of the State Council Special Governmental Allowance, and a National Outstanding Science and Technology Worker. He is mainly engaged in ice core climate and environmental records, glacier water resources, and global change research. He was awarded the National 100 Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award, the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau Youth Science and Technology Award, the First Prize of the Gansu Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress (ranked fifth), the First Prize of Gansu Provincial Natural Science (ranked third), the Second Prize of the National Scientific and Technological Progress (ranked fifth), and the Second Prize of National Natural Science (ranked fourth).
