Juan Manuel Ramón-Jerónimo is a PhD in Business Administration and Management from the Pablo de Olavide University of Seville and a Professor of Financial Economics and Accounting at the Pablo de Olavide University. He is a visiting professor and member of the Gate to Plate Research Group at the University of Portsmouth (UK). He was the Director of the Department of Financial Economics and Accounting at the Pablo de Olavide University (2017-2022). He has also been a guest editor of a special issue of the journal Sustainability (Q2) entitled "Collaboration, Risk Management, and Governance in SMEs: Drivers of Competitiveness and Innovation towards Meeting the SDGs". At the national level, he has been a full-time member of the research team that integrates the LEXBE (Laboratory for Experimental Business and Economics/Laboratorio de Empresa y Economía Experimental) of the Pablo de Olavide University since its inception in April 2010. His field of research focuses on risk control and management, performance, and efficiency in inter-organizational relationships from the perspective of the value chain (customers, suppliers, distributors) in national and international environments, with special attention to the food sector and entrepreneurship in SMEs.
Raquel Flórez-López is a Research visitor at Southampton Business School at the University of Southampton. She was appointed as an associate professor in Accounting and Finance at Pablo Olavide University of Seville (Spain) in August 2009. Previously she was employed as a researcher and lecturer at the University of Leon (Spain), where she obtained the degree of Doctor in Management and Finance (honors). She is a Member of the European Accounting Association, Spanish Association of Accounting and Management, Spanish Association of Accounting Professors, and Management Control Association. Her dissertation on ‘Applying emergent techniques for credit risk management facing Basel II and Solvency II’ was awarded the 2007 Spanish Institute of Accounting and Auditing and Spanish Association of Accounting Professors Prize for outstanding the best Spanish dissertation in accounting and finance. She is also a member of the Editorial Board of Technological Information (Informacion Tecnologica). Her research focuses on applying statistical methods (e.g., bootstrapping, bayesian models, MCMC) and Machine Learning models (ANN, SVM, fuzzy rules, decision trees, hybrid models) for business and risk management.
