Dr. Jeremy W. Prokop obtained his PhD from the University of
Akron, focused on integrative biosciences, performed a postdoctoral fellowship
(Howard Jacob Lab) at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and was a senior
scientist at the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology. He has been an
assistant professor at Michigan State University within the departments of
pediatrics and human development, in addition to pharmacology and toxicology,
since 2018. The Prokop lab focuses on integrative biosciences for understanding
genes and genetic variants, utilizing computational tools to generate testable
hypotheses for genomic variants (coding and noncoding) and protein function
that are then used to guide wet lab experiments into disease mechanisms and
pharmacological intervention.
