Dr. Toshiyuki Hori is Professor in Department of Biomedical Sciences, College of Life Sciences, Ritsumeikan University, Japan. He received his medical degree from Faculty of Medicine, Kyoto University in 1980 and his Ph.D. from Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University in 1988. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the DNAX Research Institute, Palo Alto, California, 1988–1991, assistant professor at Kyoto University, 1992–1998, lecturer, 1998–2008. Since 2008, he has been Professor at Ritsumeikan University, Kusatsu, Japan. He is a member of the Japanese Society of Hematology, the Japanese Cancer Association, and the Japanese Society of Internal Medicine. His specialties include molecular cell biology,  hematology, and immunology.
