Dr. Huilong Lin is a Professor at the College of Pastoral Agriculture Science and Technology, Lanzhou University. He obtained a B.S. in Applied Mathematics at Northwest Normal University, an M.D. in Pastoral Agriculture Science at Gansu Agricultural University, and a Ph.D. in Grassland Agro-ecosystems at Lanzhou University. His research interests are in grassland agro-ecosystems and ecological modeling. Much of his work involves numerical and mathematical modeling with an emphasis on geographical aspects and scale issues. He has most recently been working on an agricultural resource management, modeling, and decision support system. His recent research interests are farming system analysis based on energy analysis that allows for an integrated study of geomorphology, hydrology, geochemistry, and grazing ecology. He serves as the Vice-president of the Chinese Association of the Economy and Policy of the Grass Industry and the Executive Vice-chairman of the Chinese Society for Agricultural Ethics.
