Dr. Gonzalo Alvarez-Bolado, MD, PhD, is a group leader in the Institute for Anatomy and Cell Biology. His research interests include biomedical science and developmental neuroscience, neuroanatomy, and neurodegeneration.
Dr. Alexander Younsi is an attending physician and leader of the Neurotraumatology and Neuroregeneration Lab at the Department of Neurosurgery, Heidelberg University Hospital. He obtained additional qualifications in intensive care medicine and spine surgery (DWG) and is a fellow of the European Board of Neurological Surgery. His clinical and research interests include complex spine surgery, neurotraumatology, and intensive care medicine.
Prof. Dr. Thomas Skutella is the director of the Department of Neuroanatomy at the Institute for Anatomy and Cell Biology, Heidelberg, Germany. He was the director of the Center for Regenerative Medicine in Tübingen, Germany. Before that, he completed his MD at Frankfurt a.M., Germany, postdoctoral
studies at the Max Planck Institute for Psychiatry, Munich, and the Institute of Anatomy, Charite, Berlin. His research interests include regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, and biomaterial engineering.
