Shams M. Alshamasi is an architect. She is an Assistant Professor at the Architecture and Design Department, at Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University, Saudi Arabia. In 2016, She received her PhD in sustainable architecture from the University of Western Australia, the Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Visual Arts (ALVA). She obtained her master's degree in architecture from King Faisal University (KFU), as well as her bachelor's degree in interior architecture from KFU, and an honors degree during her undergraduate study in Interior Architecture, College of Architecture and Planning, King Faisal University, Dammam, Saudi Arabia. She is a member of the Saudi Council of Engineering (2024–2026). Her research interests are Sustainable Design, Historical Buildings, vernacular design, sustainability measures, socio-cultural factors, and home environment qualities.
