Prof. Małgorzata Karbownik-Lewińska, MD, PhD, has been the head of the Chair and Department of Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases at the Medical University of Łódź, Poland, since 2023. She obtained the scientific title of Professor of Medicine in 2004. She has authored over 250 articles and book chapters, which have an accumulated Impact Factor of over 300, have been cited more than 6000 times, and contributed to her Hirsch Index of 34. In addition, she serves as an Invited Lecturer and Meet-the-Expert at congresses and courses organized by the European Society of Endocrinology and the European Neuroendocrine Association. She is the vice-president of the Polish Thyroid Association, the chairwoman of the Section of Diagnostics and Experimental Endocrinology of the Polish Society of Endocrinology, a member of the Executive Committee of the Polish Society of Oncological Endocrinology, and a Fellow/Life Member of the Union for International Cancer Control, where she also acts as a reviewer. Moreover, she is the National Coordinator for KIMS, focusing on the management of growth hormone deficiency in adults. Her primary research interests include thyroid dysfunction in women of childbearing age, hypopituitarism, oxidative processes in experimental and clinical studies, protection against carcinogen-induced oxidative damage, the antioxidant properties of melatonin, and growth hormone deficiency in adults.
