Daniel de Brito-Machado earned his degree in Biological Sciences (Licentiate) from Centro Universitário Celso Lisboa. He holds a Master's degree and is currently a PhD at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), specializing in medicinal plants and secondary metabolism. He has worked as a volunteer researcher and professor at the Socio-Environmental Responsibility Center of the Botanical Garden Research Institute of Rio de Janeiro. Additionally, he is a Biology Professor at Colégio and Curso ZeroHum units (2019/present).
Prof. Dr. Davyson de Lima Moreira is a Senior Researcher at the Research Institute of the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden (RIRJBG), where he is responsible for the Natural Products Laboratory and coordinates the other six labs at RIRJBG. He has a degree in pharmacy from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and a master’s and PhD in Natural Products Chemistry from the Natural Products Research Institute at UFRJ. He has a special interest in the chemistry of natural products, chemodiversity, chemophenetics, and plant–plant and insect–plant interations, mainly from Piperaceae species. He has been a Researcher for FAPERJ, Rio de Janeiro, as well as CNPq. He is Editor in Chief of the Brazilian Journal of Pharmacognosy.
