Maria Martuscelli was born in Muro Lucano (Basilicata, Italy) in 1970. She is married to Donato and is the mother of Viviana and Felicia. She currently works as an Associate Professor of Food Technology (Department of Bioscience and Technology for Food, Agriculture, and Environment of University of the Studies of Teramo, Italy). She is a Member of the Italian Society of Food Technology and is listed in the Register of Experts in Industrial Research. Many of her research outputs affect scientific projects supported by public institutions or private companies. She has also contributed to foreign institutions such as the “Unite Mixte de Recherche et Flaveur Vision du consommateu comportment, of the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique” in Dijon (France) and has been involved in data collection for the European Food Safety Authority, in relation to “biogenic amines in food”. She also collaborates with Professor Dr. Meijin Guo’s research group (State Key Laboratory of Bioreactor Engineering, of East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai-China). She is the author of 120 scientific publications, published in both international and national journals, alongside proceedings of national and international congresses and book chapters. For her lifetime career achievements, she was named a Top Scholar by ScholarGPS (in the top 0.5% of all scholars worldwide) in the biogenic amine area, ranking #33.
