Prof. Dr. Marco Malaguti is now an associate professor at
the University of Bologna. He obtained a Ph.D. in Sports Science at the University
of Bologna in 2008. After a few years as a post-doc (2008–2012) and adjunct professor
(Faculty of Sport Sciences and Faculty of Pharmacy), in 2012 he became a researcher
in Biochemistry at the School of Pharmacy, Biotechnology and Sport Science of
the University of Bologna. Moreover, in 2018 he became a senior researcher and then
he became an associate professor in Biochemistry at the University of Bologna
in 2021. His research topics mainly include nutrition, biochemistry,
nutraceuticals, mushrooms, fungus, sport and exercise.
Prof. Silvana Hrelia is a Full Professor of
Biochemistry at the University of Bologna. She is the author of many
peer-reviewed papers in international journals, she participates in national
and international (FPVII, Horizon2020) projects. Furthermore, she was the
Coordinator of the Nutritional and Environmental Biochemistry Group of the
Italian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a member of the Board
of the Society. Her research interests mainly include Antioxidants,
Phytochemicals, Antioxidant Activity, nutraceuticals, oxidative stress,
inflammation and redox signaling.
Prof. Cristina Angeloni currently serves as an associate
professor of Biochemistry at the University of Bologna. She obtained her Master’s
in Bioinformatics at the University of Bologna and completed her Ph.D. in
Biochemistry and Physiopathology of Aging at the University of Bologna (2000–2005).
Her research topics mainly include the protective/preventive role of bioactive components of the diet in the prevention/counteraction of chronic degenerative diseases as cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases.
