Dr. Robert O. Heuckeroth is a Professor of Pediatrics (Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition) at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Furthermore, he is also the Research Director and Norman and Irma Braman Endowed Chair of CHOP’s Lustgarten Center for GI Motility. He obtained a B.S. at the University of Maryland in 1983 and completed his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 1990. His research topics mainly include Hirschprung’s Disease, chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction syndrome, intestinal motility disorders, malnutrition, and the genetics of gastrointestinal disease.
