Dr Gayathri Karthick is a Lecturer and the leader of the MetaLearn AI Innovators Research Group at York St John University. She completed her PhD at Middlesex University in 2022 under the supervision of Dr Glenford Mapp and worked as an Academic Lecturer at Middlesex University since 2017. In 2024, she was nominated for the Postgraduate Research Supervisor of the Year Award at York St John University in London, in recognition of her exceptional contribution to the PG research community and PG students’ experience and success in research. Her research interests include secure Cloud, Big Data analytics in the Cloud, and the Metaverse, and she has published over 20 publications in refereed journals and conferences.
Dr Glenford Mapp is an Associate Professor and the Head of the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Research Group at Middlesex University. He was involved in building three Connected Vehicle testbeds in the UK which were funded by the Department for Transport (DfT). In 1992, he obtained his PhD from the Computer Lab, at the University of Cambridge and joined Middlesex University in 2003. In 2019, Glenford won the prestigious Amity University Distinguished Researcher Award for Networking for his contributions to heterogeneous networking. In April 2021, he was invited to join the College of Expert Reviewers of the European Science Foundation (ESF). He has over 140 publications in refereed journals and conferences. Currently, he is working on the Intelligent Edge Environment, a new computing and networking paradigm for Smart Cities.
