Dr. Aaron Fox obtained his Bachelor of Exercise & Sport Science (Honours) and Ph.D. from Deakin University, Australia in 2012 and 2016, respectively. He was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Queensland from February 2016 to December 2016. He also obtained a Graduate Certificate of Higher Education and Learning from Deakin University in 2019. He is currently a Senior Lecturer of Applied Sport Science in the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at Deakin University. Dr. Fox’s research applied biomechanics, modeling and simulation methods to understand human movement. His work uses three-dimensional analyses, musculoskeletal and finite element modeling, and predictive simulations to advance knowledge around sporting performance and injury risk—with a primary focus on knee injury mechanisms (e.g., anterior cruciate ligament injury, patellofemoral pain), chronic running pathologies (e.g., patellofemoral pain, tibial stress fractures), and improving footwear design and function to reduce injury risk and pain.
