Dr. Caroline S. Clauss-Ehlers is a Professor of Psychology in the School of Health Professions at Long Island University (LIU), Brooklyn, and an Honorary Professor at the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, PerĂº. She is the inaugural co-director of the LIU Institute. She served as Chair of the American Psychological Association (APA) Task Force on Re-envisioning the Multicultural Guidelines for the 21st Century 2017. She was Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Multicultural Counseling and Development, is a Fellow of APA Division 53, Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology, and is a Fellow of Division 43, Society for Couple and Family Psychology. APA's Society for Couple and Family Psychology honored Dr. Caroline S. Clauss-Ehlers with the Distinguished Service to Family Psychology Award in 2022 and the Carolyn Attneave Diversity Award in 2018. She was honored by the American Counseling Association (ACA) with the Association of Multicultural Counseling and Development Distinguished Service Award for Exceptional Leadership and Devoted Service to the Journal of Multicultural Counseling and Development in 2018 and the ACA Association of Multicultural Counseling and Development, Exemplary Diversity Leadership Award in 2014. She was a Rosalynn Carter Fellow for Mental Health Journalism and currently serves as an advisory board member for this program.
