Prof. Maria C. Pereira received her Ph.D. in Chemical
Engineering from the University of Porto in 1998. She is an Associate Professor at
Faculdade de Engenharia, Universidade do Porto and the Group Leader of
Supramolecular Assemblies at the Laboratory for Process Engineering,
Environment, Biotechnology and Energy (LEPABE). The main research areas
are: Nanotechnology and interfacial phenomena, supramolecular
interactions, including novel nano-engineered biomaterials for therapeutic
applications; drug delivery systems; electrochemical sensors for neurological
biomarkers and environment (air quality and atmospheric pollution with emphasis
on public and environmental health).
