Prof.
David Wai Chan, esteemed alumnus of Hong Kong Baptist University, holds
a
B.Sc. (Hons) and has honed his academic prowess with an MPhil from The
University of Hong Kong, followed by a PhD from Monash University,
Australia. After a fruitful postdoctoral period, he invested many years
in the LKS Faculty of Medicine at HKU. His career
trajectory took a dynamic turn when he ventured into the biotech
industry, where he thrived as a Senior Vice-President. Eventually, Prof.
Chan circled back to academia, taking on the role of Associate
Professor at the School of Medicine, CUHK-Shenzhen. His
research ambitiously probes into the genetic and epigenetic intricacies
of tumor development, the influence of the tumor microenvironment on
chemoresistance and metastasis, and the pioneering of precision cancer
medicine. His innovative work has not only led
to several patents but also to numerous high-impact publications in the
field.
