Author Biographies

Eduardo Leite Vasconcelos—Federal University of Bahia, Brazil. Eduardo has a PhD in Contemporary Communication and Culture (PostCom) from the Faculty of Communication at the Federal University of Bahia (FACOM|UFBA), Brazil, having spent collaborative time at the iNOVA Media Lab at the NOVA University of Lisbon, Portugal. He has a degree in Journalism from the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL), Brazil, and was twice a temporary professor at the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS), Brazil. He is a researcher at the Online Journalism Research Group (GJOL) and has collaborated on the research project #AcesseJOR: social innovation protocol for digital journalism and on Designing With A New Educational Module to Integrate ML, AI, and DV in Design Curricula, a partnership between the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), and the NOVA University of Lisbon (NOVA), funded by the Swiss agency for exchange and mobility Movetia. His research areas include digital journalism, visual journalism, digital imagery, photography, photojournalism, and visual methods. Suzana Oliveira Barbosa—Federal University of Bahia, Brazil. She is an Associate Professor at the Department of Communication and a permanent professor at the Graduate Program in Contemporary Communication and Culture (PostCom) at the Faculty of Communication at the Federal University of Bahia (FACOM|UFBA), Brazil. She was dean of FACOM|UFBA for two consecutive terms (2013 to 2021) and is the current coordinator of PostCom|UFBA. For two years, she was the coordinator of the Journalism Studies Working Group at Compós (National Association of Postgraduate Programs in Communication). She is a researcher and current coordinator of the Online Journalism Research Group (GJOL) and of the project #AcesseJOR: social innovation protocol for digital journalism (Call CNPq/MCTI/FN-DCT No.18/2021 - Faixa A).
