Dr. Sultan Noman Qasem is a professor at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, College of Computer and Information Sciences, Department of Computer Science. He received a BSc with honors in 2002 from Mustansiriyah University, Faculty of Science, Computer Science Department, Baghdad, Iraq. He received a MSc degree in 2008 and a PhD degree in 2011, both from the University Technology Malaysia (UTM), Faculty of Computing, Johor, Malaysia. He has authored/co-authored over 90 research publications in peer-reviewed, reputed journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings. He has served as a program committee member of various international conferences and a reviewer for various international journals. He has received many awards, including Microsoft’s award for best paper presented during the Annual Computer Science Postgraduate Annual Research Seminar in 2010, the best student award from the school of graduate studies at UTM in 2011, the Chancellor’s award for excellent academic achievement at UTM in 2011, and excellent researcher awards for international publication from Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 2013 to 2023. He has directed many funded research projects. He is the technical editor for many journals. His research interests include applied artificial intelligence, data science, multi-objective machine learning, metaheuristic optimization algorithms, and health informatics.
