Research professor at Terrestrial Vertebrate Laboratory, Interdisciplinary Research Center for Comprehensive Regional Development, Oaxaca Unit of the National Polytechnic Institute (CIIDIR-IPN, Oaxaca Unit).Biologist, graduated from the Faculty of Sciences, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) (1989). With Master of Science (1991) and Doctorate in Science from UNAM (1996). He has taught a little more than 50 courses at different levels, most of them postgraduate. He has directed around 60 undergraduates, master's and doctoral students. Director of 30 research projects with national and international funding. He has published 80 research papers in national and international scientific journals and 26 chapters in books, in addition to being editor of 7 books. He has participated together with his students and work team in more than 100 symposiums and conferences in Mexico and abroad. He is a member of the Mexican Association of Mastozoology of which he was president in the 2012-2014 biennium; member of the American Society of Mammologists, of the Mesoamerican Society for Biology and Conservation. He was the recipient of a Special Mention of the 2016 Ecological Merit Award in the Research category. Currently, he is Curator of the Mammal Collection of the CIIDIR-IPN, Oaxaca Unit, and member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) Level II.Interests: ecology; mammals; biodiversity; conservation.
Doctoral student in Sciences in Conservation and Use of Natural Resources at the National Polytechnic Institute.She has a degree in Biology with a specialty in environmental evaluation and impact from the Technological Institute of the Valley of Oaxaca (ITVO, 2010-2014) and a Master of Science in Conservation and Use of Natural Resources from the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN, 2016-2019). Her research interests focus on bat conservation and ecology. She has carried out research work on the impact of wind farms, as well as the impact of urbanization on bats. She was part of the Environmental Education laboratory (CIIDIR-OAXACA, 2015-2018) and is a member of the Terrestrial Vertebrates laboratory (CIIDIR-OAXACA, 2014-). She has been a speaker at national and international conferences on topics related to the management and use of wildlife. Additionally, she is an active member of the Program for the Conservation of Mexican Bats.

She has presented more than 35 papers at national and international conferences. In addition, she has taught classes in the Bachelor's Degree in Biology at the ITVO and the Master's and Doctorate in Sciences in Conservation and Use of Natural Resources at the CIIDIR-IPN, Oaxaca Unit, and has given environmental education workshops in different regions of the state of Oaxaca.
