Abbas Zeinijahromi received his Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) in Production Engineering from the Petroleum University of Technology in 2003, his M.Sc. in Reservoir Engineering from Azad University in 2005, and his Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Adelaide in 2012. Currently, he is the Discipline Lead of Mining and Petroleum Engineering and Chevron Associate Professor in Carbon Storage Engineering at the School of Chemical Engineering, University of Adelaide. His expertise is in energy resources engineering (GeoEnergy and GeoStorage) with a focus on reactive multi-phase flow in porous media. He leads the GeoEnergy and Storage laboratory and co-leads the Formation Damage and EOR Research Group. His research interests include carbon capture engineering, carbon sequestration science, hydrogen storage, and petroleum and reservoir engineering.
Manouchehr Haghighi received his Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Southern California, USA, in 1994. Currently, he is working as an Associate Professor of Petroleum Engineering at The University of Adelaide. His research and teaching focus is unconventional reservoirs, reservoir simulation, well testing, and formation evaluation. He has supervised more than 40 MSc and 10 PhD students. Before joining the University of Adelaide in 2009, he was an Associate Professor of petroleum engineering at the University of Tehran, Iran. During 2000–2007, he was the head of the petroleum engineering program at the University of Tehran. In 2000, he established Simtech, a consulting company for integrated reservoir simulation in which he has been project director of several full-field simulation projects for oil and gas reservoirs. From 1995 to 2000, he worked with the National Iranian Oil Company and was the director of a program for the training of NIOC staff at several universities in the US, UK, Canada, France, Australia, and Norway. He was a visiting professor at the University of Calgary from 2007 to 2008. He has published more than 80 articles in peer-reviewed journals or presented at international conferences. He has served as a reviewer for different journals such as the Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering and is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
