Prof. Dr. Alessandro Olivi is a Full Professor of Neurosurgery and Director of the Department of Neurosurgery, at The “Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli” University Hospital in Rome and Director of the Neurosurgery Residency Program at the “Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore” in Rome. He is also a Professor Emeritus of Neurosurgery and Oncology at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. He is an Adjunct Professor of Neurosurgery at the Northwestern University of Chicago. He received his M.D. at the University of Padova Medical School in 1979. Before his return to Italy, he gained over three decades of experience in the United States. Dr. Olivi has been a Full Professor, Director of the Division of Neurosurgical Oncology and Vice Chairman of Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University. In addition, he was the Director of the Department of Neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center (JHBMC). His research topics mainly include glioma surgery, surgical outcome, machine learning and glioblastoma.
Prof. Dr. Giovanni Sabatino works as an Associate Professor in Neurosurgery at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (UCSC), Rome. He completed his Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in 2010. He obtained National qualification for the role of Associate Professor in Neurosurgery from 2014 to 2010. From 2019 to 2023, he was the Head of the Neurosurgery Unit of Mater Olbia Hospital, Olbia. His research interests mainly include contrast-enhanced ultrasound, low-grade glioma, the extent of resection in glioblastoma surgery and status epilepticus after resection of parfocal meningioma.
