Dr. Octavio Fenollar teaches in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering in the area of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering. He has held a position as a university professor since February 2019. His research activity has been conducted at the Institute of Materials Technology of the Polytechnic University of Valencia since April 2006. His main lines of research are the surface modification of polymeric substrates through plasma technology with a focus on obtaining polymeric materials with less environmental impact. In this sense, it is worth highlighting works aimed at the use of agro-industrial waste, the use of polymers of natural and/or biodegradable origin, composite materials with a marked ecological component (resins and/or natural fibers), and biodegradable materials reinforced for 3D printing. He has actively participated in two European projects: one on the revaluation of waste and PET packaging (REVALPET) and the second as part of a 3D printing project.
