Yang Yang is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His major is cartography and geographic information systems. He has been awarded the title of "Outstanding Student Member of the Chinese Geographical Society". His research interests include simulating climate change and surface elements of ecological environments. His current research interests mainly focus on the impact of urbanization on extreme climate events and the impact of climate change on carbon sinks.
