Dr. Esther Perez David currently serves as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the European University of Madrid. She graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) in 1994. Dr. Esther Perez David has been a specialist in cardiology since 1999; her training was carried out at the Gregorio Marañón General University Hospital (1995–1999). She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) in 2004. Between 2004 and 2020, she developed her professional activity in the field of cardiac imaging at the Gregorio Marañón General University Hospital in Madrid, in charge of the implementation and development of the cardiac MRI program at both the healthcare and research level. Since October 2020, she has worked as head of the imaging section in the Cardiology Service of the La Paz University Hospital in Madrid. Dr. Esther Perez David has participated as an author or co-author of 57 national and international publications and has participated in six competitive research projects carried out through public funding, acting as PI in three of these. Dr. Esther Perez David's main line of research is the characterization of myocardial damage using imaging techniques, especially cardiac MRI.
Prof. Dr. Juan Francisco Delgado Jiménez is a cardiologist senior consultant and head of the advanced heart failure and transplant program, October 12th University Hospital, Madrid, Spain. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1996, and he earned his MD at the same University in 1998. Moreover, he is a Professor of Medicine at the Complutense University of Madrid. Prof. Dr. Juan Francisco Delgado Jiménez has been practicing cardiology for more than 25 years. He has developed most of his professional career at the October 12th University Hospital, where he is currently responsible for the advanced heart failure and transplant program, as well as the co-founder of the cardiac transplant program, one of the most important programs in the country, with the best results. He is a pioneer in Spain in the use of all techniques and treatments for heart failure, such as resynchronization therapy. He has carried out clinical activities at Columbia University (New York). Prof. Dr. Juan Francisco Delgado Jiménez has published over 262 original papers and acts as an editorial board member for The Journal for Heart and Lung Transplantation, the American Journal of Cardiology, Circulation, and Rev Esp Cardiol. In addition, he is a member of the International Transplant Society, the European Society of Cardiology, and the Spanish Society of Cardiology.
Dr. Ivan Javier Núñez-Gil currently works at the Hospital Universitario de Torrejón in Madrid, Spain, as Head of Cardiology. He graduated in medicine from the Complutense University of Madrid and completed his doctorate at both the Autonomous University and the Complutense University of Madrid. Dr. Ivan Javier Núñez-Gil specialized in Cardiology at the Hospital Clínico San Carlos in Madrid, where he has worked as an accredited interventional cardiologist, for more than 15 years. He is currently a mentor of residents and doctors, with an interest in teaching, methodology, and research, and is the author or coauthor of more than 350 articles published in national and international journals, as well as multiple scientific books. He was responsible for the quality and safety of care in the cardiology service of the Hospital Clínico San Carlos and held the position of president of the commission of therapeutic means of this center. Currently, Dr. Ivan Javier Núñez-Gil is a full member of the Spanish (SEC) and European Society of Cardiology (FESC), he participates as a member of the board of directors of the Castilian Society of Cardiology, and he serves as Professor of Medicine at the European University in Madrid.
