Prof. Lichao Liu is a researcher at the Key Laboratory of Ecological Safety and Sustainable Development in Arid Lands, Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He graduated from Lanzhou University with a bachelor's degree in 1992; obtained a master's degree from Lanzhou Institute of Desert Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1997; and obtained his doctorate from Cold Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2006. From 1992 to 1999, he worked at Lanzhou Institute of Desert Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, as a research intern and then as an assistant researcher. From 1999 to 2002, he worked as an assistant researcher at Cold Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and from 2002 to 2006, he worked as an associate researcher at Cold Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 2006 to 2010, he worked as a project researcher at Cold Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 2011 to the present, he has been working at Cold Regions Environmental and Engineering Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research direction is desert ecology.
