Prof. Ángel Diéguez has been teaching Microelectronic Design since 2001 when he obtained a permanent position in the Electronic and Biomedical Engineering Department of the University of Barcelona. Since then, he has applied different academic strategies trying to obtain the maximum from his students. He experienced with project-based learning based on the design from schematic to layout of a digital gate well at the beginning of his teaching career. Then, he motivated the students applying a methodology based on collaborative problem solving, which resulted in very participative classes. Finally, he is using gamification in part of the VLSI design course with spectacular results. His research activities are also linked to microelectronic design. He has led more than 10 European and national projects. He is author of more than seven patents and more than 200 scientific contributions.
