Carol Ronken
Carol Ronken earned, from the University of Tasmania, a BA in psychology (1993) and a Masters in Applied Sociology (Social Research) (1995). Appointed in 2003, Carol Ronken is responsible for leading the program of research at Bravehearts. Carol is passionate about ensuring Bravehearts is actively involved in research, policy and legislative development that aims to prevent, respond to, and reduce the incidence of child sexual abuse and exploitation. She is a member of several working groups, including the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation Research Working Group, the Stopping Gender Violence Advisory Board, the Australian Child Rights Taskforce and the PartnerSPEAK National Action Group. Her professional memberships include the Australian and New Zealand Society of Criminology, the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and the Child Protection Practitioners Association of Queensland. Carol is also a Visiting Fellow in the School of Justice at Queensland University of Technology and holds degrees in Psychology and Social Research. In 2022, Carol was appointed a Director of the Board for PeakCare Queensland
