Athina Pyrpasopoulou, MD PhD, is a Consultant in Internal Medicine/ Infectious Diseases, Hippokration Hospital of Thessaloniki. She is a member of the Hellenic Society of Infectious Diseases, the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, and the American Society for Infectious Diseases, with an MD, a BSc in Biology, and a PhD in Cell/ Molecular Biology (European Molecular Biology Laboratory, Heidelberg, Germany). She has been involved in both basic and clinical research
with >75 published peer-reviewed papers, h-index 27 and >2300 citations. She has participated in >15 international clinical studies as a co-investigator, focusing on the epidemiology and treatment of infections and the clinical application of new immunotherapies in systemic autoimmune diseases.
