Muhammad Tahir is working at COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, as a Tenured Associate Professor of economics. He obtained a Ph.D at the School of Business and Economics, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Brunei Darussalam in 2014. In 2014, he was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Management Sciences, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Abbottabad. From May. 2012 to June 2012, he was a Visiting Researcher at the Institute of Economics, Academia Sinica (Taiwan). He once was a Visiting Researcher at the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs, (BOFT, Taiwan) and a Visiting Researcher at the Korea Institute of International Economic Policy (KIEP), South Korea. He obtained an Award Graduate Research Scholarship in 2010 by Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
