Maximilian Neugebauer is a scientific associate in the field of nucleic acid analysis and
immunoassays at the Hahn-Schickard-Gesellschaft für angewandte Forschung e.V.
in Freiburg. He studied biosciences (B.Sc.) at the University of Potsdam
between 2010 and 2013 and biotechnology (M.Sc.) at the University of Münster
between 2013 and 2016, focusing on protein biochemistry. After writing his
master's thesis, in which he established a novel system for directed evolution of
proteins in bacterial cells, he worked at the BIOTECON Diagnostics GmbH in
Potsdam for two years. During this period, he optimized digital PCR techniques
and developed several digital and real-time PCR based assays in the field of
food diagnostics. He has been employed at Hahn-Schickard in Freiburg and
the IMTEK (Department of Microsystems Engineering, University of Freiburg) since
2018, focusing on qPCR, dPCR and multianalyte assay development.
