Prof. Antonio Pompilio Gigante graduated in 1987 from the Department of Medicine and Surgery at the University of the Sacro Cuore of Rome. From 1987 to 1992 he specialized in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the Università Cattolica of Rome. Today he works as First Level Medical Director at the Orthopaedic Clinic of the Università Politecnica of Marche. Since 2008, he has been working in the field of Biotechnology, becoming a permanent researcher at the Orthopaedic Clinic of the Università Politecnica of Marche belonging to the Department of Clinical and Molecular Sciences. Since April 2013, he has been the Director of the Laboratory of Biomechanics and Biomaterials of the Department of Clinical and Molecular Sciences of the Università Politecnica of Marche. He also carries out teaching activities and since 2007 he has been teaching Locomotor Apparatus Diseases in the Degree Course (CdL) of Prevention Technician in environments and workplaces, in the CdL of Nursing, and in the CdL of Medicine and Surgery. Since 2016, he has been Director of the School of Specialization in Orthopaedics and Traumatology of the Università Politecnica of Marche Region. He is the author of 3 patents, and he currently holds the position of Director of the School of Specialization in Orthopaedics and Traumatology of the Università Politecnica of Marche Region.
