Dr. Adam G. Schrum is an Associate Professor of Bioengineering, MMI, Surgery and Adjunct Professor of Dermatology at the University of Missouri. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Medicine, in 2002 and completed his fellowship at University Hospital Basel in 2007. His research interests focus on network protein complexes in signal transduction and T cell development, immunity, and tolerance. The laboratory of Dr. Schrum is focused on physiologic signaling networks and how they function in molecular and cellular immunity. The main goal is to increase the understanding of how T cells of the immune system decide whether to destroy or tolerate healthy, infected, or cancerous tissue, with an eye toward applying lessons learned to design immunotherapies.
