Dr. Lijun Wang is a lecturer at the School of Life Sciences,
at Yantai University. She earned her BS (2009) in Plant Protection and her PhD
(2018) in Agricultural Entomology and Pest Control at the Huazhong Agricultural
University. Since 2018, she has been teaching at Yantai University, teaching
courses including General Biology and Neurobiology. She has won the honors of
the second prize for outstanding instructor in the 2020 Shandong Province
College Students Biology Teaching Skills Competition and the first prize for
outstanding instructor in the 2020 Shandong Province College Students Biology
Experiment Skills Competition. She has participated in the National Natural
Science Foundation of China, general projects and presided over the Yantai
University Doctoral Start-up Fund. Her research interests include insect
physiology, biochemistry and molecular biology, and green pest control
technology.
Li Zheng received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in marine biology
from the Ocean University of China, and his doctorate in marine biology from
the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was a visiting
scholar at the Institute of Marine Environment and Technology, University of
Maryland, USA. He was named as Taishan Industry
Innovation Leader, Outstanding Science and Technology Youth in the Marine
System, and won the Qingdao Youth Science and Technology Award. He is mainly
engaged in marine environmental protection work, carried out marine biological
resource development and damage assessment work, studied the environmental
adaptability mechanism of marine organisms, and the biological behavior under
marine stress environment, established technical standards for the detection of
living pathogens, and applied microbial resources to the development of
ecological restoration technology.
Prof. Dr. Xumin Wang is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor
at the School of Life Sciences, at Yantai University. He is also the captain of
the Yantai Youth Science and Technology Volunteer Service Team and the chairman
of the Yantai University Youth Innovation Talent Association. He earned his MSc
at the Department of Marine Biology of the Qingdao Ocean University (2001). He
completed his PhD in Genomics at the Beijing Institute of Genomics, Chinese
Academy of Sciences (2011). He is known as Yantai University’s top talent,
Yantai City’s “Double Hundred Plan” talent, and Yantai City’s high-level
talent. He is a member of the Molecular Pharmacognosy Committee of the Chinese
Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Vice Chairman
of the Shandong Provincial Council of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and
Director of the Shandong Provincial Zoological Society. He is engaged in
research in genomics and bioinformatics, including DNA sequencing technology
and large-scale operations, system application development research of genomic
technology, new generation detection technology, as well as marine life
genomics and polar life genomics research, and focuses on application research
based on new generation sequencing technology.
